December through March, humpback whales come to Banderas Bay to mate, give birth and sing. We run small-group tours with a marine biologist on board, hydrophone to hear the songs, and strict no-chase rules.

Pro Tip Mornings have flatter water and better whale activity. Bring a windbreaker — even in 'warm' Vallarta.
