CREATE YOUR OWN 2-TANK DIVE
Choose any 2 of the following dive spots and create your
own 2-tank dive. All these dives depart from Mismaloya,
20 minutes away from downtown, where you can have lunch
and drinks at one of the beach restaurants after your dive.
La Puntilla shore
dive Excellent for beginners, La Puntilla makes
for a great shore dive with its easy slope and calm waters.
Colorful tropical fish abound and eagle rays are frequent
visitors of the area, so consider an underwater camera as
a must on your what-to-bring list.
About a quarter of a mile from Mismaloya beach is a great
dive spot perfect for both beginners and experienced divers.
Only accessible by boat, Los Bajos, or the shallows, also
features rock-strewn slopes where a broad range of underwater
life can be seen.
El Acuario The reason
for its name is quite simple ? it?s as if you were dropped
in to a giant aquarium when diving in this spot. With its
panned out floor, El Acuario is the perfect location for
beginners or for those looking for refresher dive. Don't
forget to bring your underwater camera for this one, you
will go nuts trying to frame all those colorful fish in
El Cristo Also part of the Los Arcos marine park,
El Cristo is a rock formation with caves, slopes, drop-offs
and shallows that showcase a wide variety of underwater
biodiversity. This is where you will want to dive if what
you are looking for is to see different kinds of ocean floor
Devil's Canyon At
the Los Arcos marine preserve, drop down to the depths of
the untamed sea and conquer what is known as ?Devil?s Canyon?.
This site is actually a wall so large that it plummets to
a depth of over 550m (approx 1800 feet). You will need to
have mastered your buoyancy skills for this dive, so this
spot is only recommended for seasoned divers.
